Reading is a major interchange west of London, where Great Western services from the west and south west meet the line into Paddington, and the western end of the Elizabeth line. It is the natural gateway to the Thames Valley business corridor, which is where most of our work here goes.
Reading and Heathrow
Reading sits close to the M4 and is a straightforward run to Heathrow, usually well under an hour outside peak times. That makes it one of our more common journeys from this station: passengers arriving from Bristol, Cardiff or the west connect to a flight without going into London and back out again.
Where we meet you
The station has northern and southern entrances that lead to different sides of the town, and the forecourt is restricted. Your driver confirms which side to use with you before you arrive and calls on approach.
Journeys people book from Reading
- To Heathrow — direct, with luggage, avoiding a trip into London
- To Gatwick — a longer run round the M25, best booked with time in hand
- Around the Thames Valley — Bracknell, Maidenhead, Slough, Wokingham and the business parks
- Into central London — where an early hour or heavy luggage makes the train impractical
Business travel
The corridor between Reading and Heathrow carries a lot of corporate traffic, and much of our work here is on account: executive vehicles, drivers waiting at the platform end, invoicing afterwards. Hourly hire covers days with several meetings across different business parks.
The hours we run
We collect and drop off between 8am and 6pm, which covers the business day the Thames Valley runs on. The first and last Great Western services fall outside those hours, so check your train against them before booking.
Booking your Reading Station transfer
Every journey is arranged and accepted in advance. We are a licensed private hire operator, not a street-hail taxi service, so cars cannot be flagged down or picked up from a rank.
When you request a journey, please give us:
- The passenger name and a contact telephone number
- Correct pickup and destination addresses
- The date and required pickup time
- The number of passengers, and the amount and size of luggage
- Flight or sailing details where they apply
- Any accessibility requirements that affect the vehicle we send
The price shown when you book is an estimate based on what you tell us. Our office confirms the final price before you travel, and it does not change afterwards because of traffic or a longer route.
