Pegasus Transfers Limited is a licensed private hire operator covering Greater London and the counties around it. Every journey is arranged in advance, with a named driver, a set pickup time and a price agreed before you travel. We are not a street-hail service and cannot be flagged down.
Where we cover
Most of our work is inside the M25 and the corridors leading out of it: the airports to the west and north, the Channel ports to the south east, and the main line stations in the centre. We also run longer journeys out of London when they are booked ahead, including to Southampton, Dover, Birmingham, Manchester and Liverpool.
If you are not sure whether an address is somewhere we cover, ask. It is quicker than guessing, and the answer is usually yes.
The journeys we are asked for most
- Airport transfers to and from Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted, Luton and London City
- Main line station pickups, particularly Kings Cross, Euston, Paddington and Victoria
- Cruise transfers to Southampton, Dover and Tilbury
- Business travel between meetings, either point to point or with the car held for the day
- Family journeys where child seats and luggage space need arranging in advance
How long journeys across London take
London traffic is the largest variable in any quote we give. A crossing of the centre that takes twenty minutes on a Sunday morning can take an hour on a Friday afternoon. When you tell us the time you need to be somewhere, we work backwards from it rather than from the shortest possible run, and we build in time for the roadworks and closures that are a permanent feature of the city.
Two things make the biggest difference to your journey time: travelling in or out of the centre during the morning and evening peaks, and any river crossing east of Tower Bridge. If your journey involves either, book earlier than you think you need to.
Charges that apply inside London
Some journeys pass through the Congestion Charge zone or the Ultra Low Emission Zone. Where a charge applies to your journey it is included in the price we quote, so the figure you agree is the figure you pay. You will never be asked for a road charge on the day.
Choosing a vehicle
The vehicle you need is usually decided by luggage rather than by passengers. Four adults fit comfortably in a saloon; four adults with four large suitcases do not. Tell us what you are carrying when you book and we will tell you honestly which vehicle it fits in, including whether the cheaper option is realistic.
Our fleet runs from saloon cars through estates and MPVs to eight-seat minibuses, with executive vehicles available where the occasion calls for one.
Booking a car by the hour
For a day of meetings, a viewing schedule or an evening out, hourly hire keeps the same car and driver with you rather than booking each leg separately. You give us a start point and a rough plan, and the driver waits between stops. It usually works out simpler than three separate bookings, and nobody is left waiting on a kerb for a car that has not been called yet.
Booking your London transfer
Every journey is arranged and accepted in advance. We are a licensed private hire operator, not a street-hail taxi service, so cars cannot be flagged down or picked up from a rank.
When you request a journey, please give us:
- The passenger name and a contact telephone number
- Correct pickup and destination addresses
- The date and required pickup time
- The number of passengers, and the amount and size of luggage
- Flight or sailing details where they apply
- Any accessibility requirements that affect the vehicle we send
The price shown when you book is an estimate based on what you tell us. Our office confirms the final price before you travel, and it does not change afterwards because of traffic or a longer route.
