London Luton is north of the capital in Bedfordshire, just off the M1, with a single passenger terminal. It handles a high share of very early departures, which is where most of our Luton work comes from: at four in the morning there is often no practical alternative to a pre-booked car.
Meeting your driver at Luton
Pickups and drop-offs use the airport's designated areas, and the driver confirms the exact meeting point before you arrive rather than leaving you to work it out on landing. For arrivals we meet you in the terminal with a name board once you are through and have your luggage, and the driver contacts the number on the booking.
Luton charges vehicles to use its pickup and drop-off areas. That charge is included in the price we quote, so nothing is added at the barrier.
How long the journey takes
Luton's road access is the M1, joining the M25 to the south. It is a straightforward run when the motorway is clear and a slow one when it is not.
- Central London — typically an hour to an hour and a half, longer during the morning and evening peaks
- North London and Hertfordshire — usually well under an hour outside peak times
- The Midlands — a direct run north on the M1
- Heathrow — an M25 journey that queues badly at peak; allow generous time
The M1 southbound into London is one of the more reliably congested approaches in the morning, so we plan Luton collections earlier than the raw distance would suggest.
The hours we run
We collect and drop off between 8am and 6pm. Luton carries a high share of very early departures, and a pickup at two or three in the morning for one of those is outside our hours.
Where we can help with an early flight is the day before: a transfer out to a hotel near the airport in the afternoon, and the return leg once you are back within our hours. Tell us your flight times and we will be straight with you about what we can and cannot cover.
Flight monitoring
Give us your flight number and we track the arrival, bringing the collection forward for an early landing and holding it back for a late one. Free waiting time runs from the moment you land rather than the scheduled time.
Luggage and groups
Tell us the number of suitcases as well as passengers. Luton carries a lot of holiday traffic and full-size cases take more room than people expect. For groups travelling together, a minibus is usually cheaper and simpler than two cars, and keeps everyone arriving at once.
Fixed prices
Common Luton routes are quoted as fixed fares rather than distance estimates, so the agreed price holds regardless of what the M1 does on the day. The current fixed fares for this airport are below.
Booking your Luton Airport transfer
Every journey is arranged and accepted in advance. We are a licensed private hire operator, not a street-hail taxi service, so cars cannot be flagged down or picked up from a rank.
When you request a journey, please give us:
- The passenger name and a contact telephone number
- Correct pickup and destination addresses
- The date and required pickup time
- The number of passengers, and the amount and size of luggage
- Flight or sailing details where they apply
- Any accessibility requirements that affect the vehicle we send
The price shown when you book is an estimate based on what you tell us. Our office confirms the final price before you travel, and it does not change afterwards because of traffic or a longer route.
